Kenya – Beyond the Safari Tracks

kenya-beyond-the-safari-tracks-safariKenya is named after a mountain of the same name “Mount Kirinyaga”. The name came about after British colonies were unable to pronounce the name Kerinyaga.

Kenya is also a cradle of mankind. Between 1998 and 1999 the remains and fossils dating over 3.5 million [Kenyanthropus] were discovered west of Lake Turkana. Today the remains can be found in Kenya’s National museums in Nairobi. You can request for a special Archeological Tours to prehistoric site in Kenya.

Kenya is a country of many attractions, the most popular being its wildlife, its dramatically diverse landscapes, its beaches and its cultural wealth. There are two rainy seasons, the long rains from March to May and the short rains in October to November. This therefore makes Kenya and East Africa at large, an all year around destination.

Kenya is much than the regular tourist attraction for which it’s known. Kenya offers  diversified products like weaving industry done by Kikuyu tribe, beading’s done by Maasai tribe ,wood carving done by Akamba , soap stones carving done by Kisii tribe among  many. Kenya has a coastline of approximately 536km fronting the Indian ocean with some of the most beautiful beaches and some of the most diverse marine life in the oceans. The beautiful corals [soft and hard] are abundant as well as dolphins, fish, sharks and turtle. You can as well ran on our soft sandy beaches  at the  coast.

Apart from the safari, the main signature product for Kenya, there are other add-on that can enhance your safaris. You can try paragliding at the coast, Kapiti plains, Limuru or in Kerio valley. This can be combined with sky diving. There is also Bungee Jumping. Bungee Jumping is one of the truly adrenaline pumping ground activities which can be combined with a whitewater rafting or an Africa kayaking for a greater adventure experience.

There are plenty of other sports activities like Diving, Jet Skiing, Zip Lining, Kite surfing, Motocross with Quad bikes and big game fishing that can add to your thrill in Africa. Other activities include Rock climbing, Dhow safaris, Cave exploration, rock safaris, Camel and horse riding expeditions among many more.

Kenya is also a home of flowers “TULIPS” grown especially  in Naivasha [visit the farms] supplying 98 per 100 of its 40 types to European countries. “Kenya is the only country that can grow straight rose stems”; as you pay a visit to Lake Naivasha to enjoy its serene beauty like fish eagles snatching their meal from their habitats and boat riding among many activities. Kenya is also known for its top grade coffee and tea. They are exported all over the world. You can have a combined Agro Tour with your wildlife safari.

Most of these activities are done outside the wildlife parks and reserve. This not only saves you more money but gives you a lot of real cultural interaction.

Africa is indeed blessed with immeasurable treasures and we are here to make sure you enjoy them all during your holiday with us.
