Detailed Itinerary

The land of giants is a safari that its main focus is the work of Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The wildlife safari takes you to Ithumba and Umani Springs Camps. These properties are run by David Sheldrick wildlife trust. They give you the opportunity to interact with the rescued and rehabilitated elephants which have been reintegrated back in the wild.

You get also to Visit Amboseli National Park; a wildlife photographer’s paradise. You will be up close and personal with the elephants. Accommodation is in well-known lodges offering comfort and luxury. This safari is led by a professional wildlife photographer.

Day 1: You will be met at the airport on arrival and transferred your overnight hotel. Overnight: Eka Hotel (Bed and Breakfast)

Day 2: You will leave for Amboseli National Park arriving in good time for lunch. Your lodge for the night is set at a central location and has a magnificent view of the park and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Later in the evening from 1600hrs, you will have an afternoon game drive until sunset. Meals and overnight: Amboseli Serena lodge (Full Board)

Day 3: You will have a full day in Amboseli National Park. You will have a 0630hrs game drive which will offer you the opportunity to catch the glorious snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro offering the best photography back drop. You will return to the lodge later for breakfast and time at leisure before an afternoon game drive from 1600hrs until sunset. Amboseli National Park lies in a dried-up lakebed. There are swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which give permanent water to the wildlife. The animals are mainly found around the swamps. If the weather is clear and there is no low cloud cover, you may see the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop to the park.  Meals and overnight: Amboseli Serena lodge (Full Board)

Day 4: After breakfast, you will depart for Ithumba Elephant Camp deep in the heart of Tsavo East National Park. Here you will be able to enjoy the orphaned Elephants that have been introduced back to the wild. You will arrive at midday for lunch and later have an evening with the elephants.  Meals and Overnight: Ithumba Camp (Self catering)

Day 5: You will have a full day with the elephants. Your driver and vehicle will always be at your disposal. The daily visits to the Stockades are guaranteed. A number of spectacular and breathtaking wildlife sightings await you during the Safari. Here, it’s only about elephants. Overnight: Ithumba Camp (Self catering)

Day 6: After breakfast, you will depart for Nairobi with picnic lunch boxes. On arrival you will check in at a hotel for relaxing before a taste of Nairobi night life as you enjoy your dinner. Overnight: Eka Hotel (Bed and Breakfast)

Day 7: After breakfast, you will have a tour of Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi at 1100hrs to 1200hrs. Later on you will have lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden restaurant before another afternoon private visit to the Elephant Sanctuary at 1500hrs for an hour. You will have the last visit at 1700hrs, for the foster parents. You will have ample time with the keepers who will furnish you with all the information regarding the baby Elephants. Overnight: Eka Hotel (Full Board)

Day 8: You will leave Nairobi behind you as you head north towards Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary where you will spend the next couple of nights. Here you will experience a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance in a sheltered oasis set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Your game viewing experience will commence this afternoon once the day’s temperatures have cooled down for a perfect intimate game-viewing experiences. Meals and overnight: Sweetwaters Tented Camp (Full Board)

Day 9: Another full day enjoying the wonders of Ol Pejeta – you may choose to visit the last of the Great Northern White rhinos (extra cost). Meals and overnight: Sweetwaters Tented Camp (Full Board)

Day 10: Today, you will enjoy one more game drive before departing on a short drive to Solio Private Game Reserve for more game drive. This will be after lunch at your overnight camp. You will enjoy a thrill of both the White and black Rhino while doing a game drive in this great conservancy.   The Sanctuary has the highest concentration of rhinos in the world. Meals and Overnight: Rhino Watch Camp – (Full Board)

Day 11: After and early breakfast, you will have a full day in Solio private Reserve. You will get a detailed guided tour about rhinos by a specialist. The Solio Game Reserve is a fenced, privately-owned wildlife conservancy geared towards rhino conservation. Here you will have expert advice on the state of rhino conservation. The park plays a major part in the protection and breeding of black rhinos in Kenya. Meals and Overnight: Rhino Watch Camp – (Full Board)
Day 12: You will have a leisurely morning before departing for Nairobi with lunch en route. On arrival, you will have day room use at a hotel before a farewell dinner at Pampa Churrascaria. Later on, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
